A Warm Welcome

What is the least cheesy way to start a blog lol? Hello! Hola! Maybe ciao might be the most appropriate considering I am starting this adventure in Verona, Italy as I study abroad this semester.

This is something I have wanted to do for awhile, but always hesitated to do so. Why? Idk. There is always so much pressure to be “good” at things nowadays. There are so many writers and artists in the world that I think, what on earth could I—a 20 something year old from Arizona—say that is slightly new, innovative, or important? The room for comparison is just so large. And it is honestly exhausting having to justify the validity of your art; to explain to people why they should care…

I have been writing since high school. For me writing has always been a form of release. It was never something to be “good” at, but rather a personal documentation of my feelings and my experiences as I live them. Little secrets of mine that always managed to make me feel better. But if my secrets can make another person feel less lonely, then why not share it? So I am putting it out for the world to see (even if that world ends up just being me on a webpage haha).

For years I have been living with a special kind of desperation. You see, I claim to have all of these interests, but year after year I have nothing to show for them.  For example, I love photography, editing, and writing however I never dedicate them the time. And I’m tired of feeling bad for not investing in my hobbies. This blog will not be for recognition, but rather for self expression. For the sake of “making something.” I can’t guarantee that it will be any good, but I remind myself that I shouldn’t have to be a professional to pursue the things I enjoy:)

So this blog will be the pursuit of those same passions I want to cultivate. Photography, writing, video, travel, etc. My personal diary on display as I perceive the world through my own lens. But even more, it will be the most authentic interpretation of who I am as a person. So follow along and get inspired with me.

“I want to write, but more than that, I want to bring out all kinds of things that lie buried deep in my heart.”
